Walkthrough

Beginning

Speak to ya boi, Sir Tiffy $CASH$ Cashien who's still chilling on that bench in Falador park. Ask about any available missions. He'll direct you to speak to Col. Jake O'Niall, an agent located at Witchaven.
He'll update the Commorb in your inventory to version 2 before you leave.

Witchaven

Witchaven.png

Witchaven is located just south-east of the East Ardougne market. Once you reach Witchaven, run all the way east and then head north to a pier where Col. O'Niall is located.
After some shit talking, ask what the mission is about, and ask who the important people here in Witchaven are. He asks you to look into the strange behavior of the residents here, and to specifically speak to Holgart, Mayor Hobb, and Brother Maledict.

Holgart

Go to the Arrow marker on the minimap, that's where you'll find Holgart. His boat was confiscated by the mayor and given to Jeb who's nearby, and mentions that the Fishing Platform has been weird lately.

Mayor Hobb

Just south-west of Holgart is the Mayor's house. Speak to Mayor Hobb who seems really out of it after working on a nearby shrine.
When presented with more dialogue options, make sure to ask about Witchaven, the shrine, or both, and end conversation by choosing "Nothing at the moment thanks". Savant will then contact you via the Commorb.
After the conversation, right click on your Commorb v2 and choose the scan function near Mayor Hobb. Savant will mention some odd readings, but don't worry about it for now.

Brother Maledict

Head east from the Mayor's house and enter the church in the center of Witchaven. Speak to Brother Maledict there. He worries about the behavior of his congregation. You can stop talking to him now, return to Col. O'Niall by the pier.

Old Ruined Shrine

Speak to Col. O'Niall who, after hearing your report, tells you to investigate the shrine west of Witchaven. Head west towards the marker on the minimap with an Exclamation icon, and climb down the Old ruin entrance.

Upon entering, you're in a room with Hobgoblins. Look to the wall on the right and Push a Wall that reveals an entrance to a new location.

In this new location, just follow the linear route here (Or use the shortcut in the wall) to a set of Imposing Doors with a Dead sea slug lying on the ground.
Take the Dead sea slug which then triggers Savant to call you again and scan you. Don't worry about that, try opening the Imposing Doors now.
Savant stops you and ask you to Scan the Imposing Doors for her, use the Commorb v2's scan function now.

Some glyphs look familiar to Savant, she tells you speak to Jorral for more information. He is located in an outpost north-west of Ardougne, and just south-west of the Tree Gnome Stronghold entrance.

The Book

Speak to Jorral. He thinks you're crazy but does mention that the door markings relate to some trapped Mother Mallum. After the conversation with Jorral, Savant will call you again and tells you to search Witchaven for more clues. Return to Witchaven and speak to Col. O'Niall.

Col. O'Niall tells you to speak to Brother Maledict, do that and he mentions that his holy book is missing some pages.

  • Page 1: Head to the Mayor's house and search his study desk to find Page 1.
  • Page 2: Head east to the fishing store and speak to Ezekial Lovecraft, he'll hand you Page 2.
  • Page 3: Return to Col. O'Niall, he looks funny but gives you a torn up Page 3. Try to use swamp paste on any page fragment for Savant to stop you.
Torn Page

Savant mentions that some some sea slug glue would work well to fix the page, make sure you have a Dead sea slug in your inventory and speak to Jeb by Holgart to head to the fishing platform.

On the Fishing platform, head west and speak to Bailey who will make you your sea slug glue. Then use the glue on any of the page fragments to pull up an interface to fix the page. You can flip one fragment to reveal a graphic, and flip the other large fragment to better line up the text.
Try to copy the image below, which was taken a few steps before the highlighted fragment was lowered down to complete the page.

It's revealed that specially shaped runes are needed to open the Imposing Doors.

Shaped Runes and the Imposing Door

With the 3 pages, a chisel, and at least 5 rune or pure essence (Who even has regular rune essence?) in your inventory, right click the pages and select the shape air, earth, water, fire, mind options. This may destroy some essence but keep trying until you have 5 blank shaped elemental runes. Now all you have to do at this part is just go to each of the altars (air, earth, water, fire, mind) using any method you want, and use the blank elemental rune on the corresponding Runecraft altar (So Blank fire rune at the fire altar).

With the 5 shaped runes, return to the Imposing Door at the ruined altar in Witchaven. Use the 5 shaped runes on the door and a cutscene will play.
A Level-62 Slug Prince will appear. He's not very difficult to defeat, but it will drain your prayer every hit!

Following the death of the Slug Prince, Mother Mallum shows up! Savant will whisk you away from danger just in time, and you'll be back at Falador park.
Speak to CASHien to complete the quest!
