  • Completion of Ghosts Ahoy to enter Port Phasmatys for free

Walkthrough

Speak to Jorral to start the quest. He is located in an outpost north-west of Ardougne, and just south-west of the Tree Gnome Stronghold entrance. Middle of nowhere with a bunch of hobgoblins loitering outside you can't miss this guy.

Making History

Help Jorral make history (Title drop, everyone clap) of this outpost he's stationed at to prevent King Lathas from evicting him. Hear him out when he asks if you'd like to learn more to start a cutscene.

Jorral suggests you should investigate more, with 3 specific people you can speak to in any order.

  • Erin the Silver Trader, at the East Ardougne market
  • Droalak the Ghost, at Port Phasmatys
  • Dron the Warrior, Blanin's brother at Rellekka

Let's just work down the list.

Erin's Enchanted key

Be careful not to accidentally click on his stall and get caught stealing, Erin will get pissy at you and not talk to you for a few minutes.
If this happens to you just skip ahead of this step and return later.

Run or tele over to East Ardougne market, there should be an NPC called "Silver merchant" north by a silk stall and his silver stall. This is the dude, Erin, you need to speak to about the outpost. He'll give you an enchanted key that may lead to some historical items related to the outpost

When you click on the Enchanted key, it tells you whether you're getting closer or farther from the location you need to dig at (Hot meaning closer, Cold meaning farther).
Every time you Feel or click the key, it compares it to the last feeling. If you keep running around /v/scape feeling the key, it should lead you south-west of Ardougne near Castle Wars and the Observatory.

Go north of Castle Wars (Using a dueling ring would help) and just south of the observatory (between the observatory and the two bridges).
Open the collapsible below to find the dig location.


Feeling the key should say "The key is steaming. It must be right below your feet." Use your spade to dig up a chest.
Using the enchanted key on the chest will reveal a journal, you can read it and move on now.
Droalak the Spooky

Go to Port Phasmatys now, head to the general store to the south to find Droalak walking around the front lawn of the store.
With a Ghostspeak amulet on, speak to Droalak to learn that he once died at Jorral's Outpost. He'll give you a scroll with more juicy information if you help him patch up his relationship with his wife.
With a sapphire amulet in your inventory, head to the house just west of the Port Phasmatys smelting furnace to speak to Melina.
You'll give her the amulet and she'll move on forgiving Droalak.
Speak to Droalak to obtain a Scroll to move on.

Dron the Cautious

Head to Relekka (DKS/AJR fairy codes are right nearby, or just play an enchanted lyre or something).
To the east of the longhall and north of the town's world famous dairy churn is Blanin. Speak to him to ask about his brother Dron.
Take out a pen and paper and take notes on what his brother's like, or just run up north just past the helmet store to speak to Dron and tell him the following:

  1. I'm after important answers.
  2. Why, you're the famous warrior Dron!
  3. An iron mace
  4. Breakfast
  5. Lunch
  6. Bunnies
  7. Red
  8. 36
  9. 8
  10. Fifth and Fourth
  11. North East side of town
  12. Blanin
  13. Fluffy
  14. 12, but what does that have to do with anything?

No you're not a robot, finish the conversation with Dron to move on.

Conclusion

Having talked to Dron about the outpost's history, and having the journal and scroll in your inventory, return to Jorral at the outpost.
Speak to Jorral and you'll hand him everything you have. He tells you to speak to King Lathas upstairs in East Ardougne castle.
Speak to Lathas about the outpost and he'll have you deliver a letter to Jorral.
Return to the outpost to speak to Jorral. Following a cutscene, the quest is complete!

On the bookshelf here is an interesting book called The Mysterious Stranger, containing some nice accounts of your questing.

SPEAK TO DROALAK AT PORT SPOOKY AFTER THE QUEST TO FREE HIS SOUL
DON'T FORGET
You get completely nothing out of it, but come on like why wouldn't you free the guy's soul?
